HI all

just after some advice, due to go out to aspen heights in the next couple of weeks for our first visit, we dont have oour keys as yet and still have to sign the power of attorney - we did do the frist one a couple of years back but i beleive its much cheaper to do in Bulgaria, so we decided to wait until we where going out to sign the FMG one.

My questions are

Who do we contact re keys
Who do we contact re POA
we planning to do all paperwork etc on the friday - is one day enough time for anyone who has already done all this.

Do we need to bring anything like copy of deeds to prove apartment is ours. so FMG let us stay in it.
also
Any good recommendations for furniture shop as we need to buy a few things that MRI did not provide. eg bathroom shelf and couch.

thanks for any help you can give

I'd like to see that info too, please.

If alls ready for your hand over, you wouldn't need a PoA, as you'd be signing the contracts yourself.
Or maybe you want a PoA for some continuing business?

From my experience best way is to send an e mail to FMG  Oleg, (the manager at Aspens ) and Vladimir the director guy at FMG in sofia. Also to Andy  Peach at MRI.  Tell them when you will arrive (if in the middle of the night like us they give the Key to security guard at Heights other wise I presume in normal hours you would get keys from reception at Aspen golf. Tell them you want to sign your POA (but will be making alterations) and ask them to contact Legal Independence for you and make sure the deeds are sent to LI Office in Razlog for collection. (we did this but they didnt do it , we called in at LI office and they had deeds from sofia in two days)
Oleg will give you a copy of POA. You will need to tell him what items you want removed. He wil later give you an amended copy with the changes you requested. He will make an appointment for you to see the Notary in Razlog and arrange for a translator to be present. Oleg will go with you in the FMG minibus along with Boris the driver (great bloke very helpful). Translator will translate the POA for you and make any slight alterations if required. You will then go into see notary who will witness you signing the document.
That is basically it . Translator will cost  20 lev, the notary signing will probably cost just under 11 lev. It is quite painless and inexpensive Grin

We didnt need proof of ownership

We used furniture box in Bansko for our funiture, bloke called Eddie or Stanford. Couldnt be more helpful. Now own a furniture factory and will do bespoke furniture at very reasonable prices

Hope this helps Will post more after I get home. But have to say we are delighted with the Heights complex and our studios. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi still having teething issues but I would expect them to be functioning when you arrive. We have been the only people stayinh there for the last three nights!!

Everything John says is correct & is that easy, too. We did this in Feb this year all in 1 day including opening a bank account & collecting our deeds & Bulstat card together (property owner card) that I understand you'll need when the electricity is in your name. It was our first visit too so we were a bit unsure if it would it would all go to plan - & it did.

However we did get FMG to remove the bits of the POA that we did not want (via email) prior to our visit. This allowed us to read it at home prior to the visit. The office staff at the Notary & the translator both read the POA to us in English from the Bulgarian writing, so we were happy that it was written correctly in Bulgarian, just as we wanted it.

I hope this helps & have a great holiday!

Sorry not contacted LI for years now but ask Oleg to contact them in Razlog for you, I think FMG + LI contact each other regularly

They know the girl who works for LI in Razlog. . You should be able to do all this in one day no bother. Just make sure they contact her ans she has time to get the documents through.
( thats me back home in scotland now....a long day !0
